Funzi Island
Funzi Island is a tide-dependent flatwater kite spot near Diani Beach. Kite254 offers day excursions to this amazing kiters' paradise, away from the busy beaches in Diani. The transfer by road takes about 40 minutes, plus an additional 15 minutes of boat transfer through the mangroves to reach the Island, which is only exposed around a low tide. The wind blows off-shore and therefore creates an amazing flatwater spot for kitesurfing. The ground is all sandy and there are no sharp hazards in the water to be worried about. You should be at an independent level and able to stay up-wind since the wind blows off-shore. Boat rescue is available in case of an emergency. The crew will also set up shady shelters on the Island, where you can take a break from kiting and enjoy a cold drink. Once the water level rises, it is time to take a boat ride to the nearby Island and finish off the day with a traditional seafood lunch in the local village. Gazi Bay

Downwinder along Diani Beach
This one never gets old! The 14-km long kitesurf downwinder between Kongo Mosque and Kite254/Pallet Cafe is a must-do kite excursion. The downwinder will take you along the pristine coastline of Diani and Galu Beach. You can either choose to kite inside the lagoon and enjoy the flat water or you can decide to cruise downwind on the reef and play around in the waves. Midway you will stop for a refreshment at one of the beach bars and can connect and exchange with like-minded people.
